Jane Austen’s World
STORY

In Hampshire County, England, two institutions work hard to keep Jane Austen and other early women writers’ work alive and relevant.  Chawton House Library, the former home of Jane Austen’s wealthy brother, Edward Austen Knight, today houses a rare book collection for scholarly research while a short walk down the road leads to the Jane Austen House Museum, the cottage in which Jane Austen wrote most of her beloved novels.  This short documentary explores these two institutions, their mission statements and introduces some of the professionals who devote their careers to preserving these works for future generations.
